Mine Shaft Project

Millennium just completed a project that was a first for our company, and too interesting not to share.

A development project was set to start on the site of the Old Centennial Mine in Louisville, Colorado.  To make way for the new buildings the old mine shaft had to be cut down so it could be safely capped below grade.  We cut the shaft down 14 feet in two separate phases with a Pentruder wall saw in order to minimize vibration to the hundred plus year old concrete.  As they excavated the shaft down there was a time capsule of old liquor bottles, jars and other strange materials from possibly when the mine was closed.

This was an interesting project and we had fun researching what we could about the old mine. Below is a picture of the shaft before they pulled the last sections down, and the mine cap from the State of Colorado.

19 Years!

Today we celebrate 19 years in business!  There have been some hard times over the last 19 years, but I think we can all agree that times right now are something nobody has experienced.  We are still working, and are incredibly grateful that we can still keep our employees busy.  It’s a different environment than two months ago as we are trying very hard to keep everyone healthy and safe.  As we quietly celebrate our successes and look forward to brighter days our thoughts and prayers are with everyone struggling right now.

Stay Well!

Specialty Work

Our company does more than just cut concrete.  The same tools we use to cut concrete can also be used to accomplish a variety of specialty tasks.  Ever needed a hole through a granite counter top, or found that perfect rock for a water fountain?  We can do custom cuts for fire pits, water features, and granite slabs. There have been many projects through the years that we have helped complete a unique custom piece.  Here are some pictures of a custom rock fire pit we cut an opening for the gas line, and other necessary components at our shop.  We also have drilled holes through large rocks to build a custom one of a kind water feature.  Most types of stone we are able to cut without too much difficulty.
